Spiritual Deliverance

  • 2 Corinthians 1:10 – He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us.
  • Psalm 34:17 – The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
  • Psalm 50:15 – Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.
  • Psalm 107:6 – Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
  • Colossians 1:13 – For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.
  • Psalm 40:17 – But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.
  • Galatians 1:4 – Who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father.
  • 2 Timothy 4:18 – The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
  • Psalm 91:14-15 – “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.”
  • Romans 7:24-25 – What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Physical Deliverance

  • Exodus 14:13-14 – Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.”
  • Daniel 6:27 – He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.
  • Acts 12:11 – Then Peter came to himself and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”
  • Psalm 18:48-49 – He rescues me from my enemies; you exalt me above my foes; you save me from violent men. Therefore I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name.
  • Jonah 2:2 – He said: “In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.”
  • Psalm 33:19 – to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
  • Psalm 144:7 – Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners.
  • 2 Kings 20:6 – I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.
  • Psalm 34:4 – I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
  • Psalm 32:7 – You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Emotional and Mental Deliverance

  • Psalm 42:5 – Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
  • Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
  • Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  • Psalm 94:19 – When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.
  • Matthew 11:28-30 – Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
  • 1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
  • Psalm 55:22 – Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
  • John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
  • Psalm 23:4 – Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
  • 2 Thessalonians 3:16 – Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

Deliverance from Enemies

  • Psalm 18:17 – He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.
  • Luke 1:71 – Salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us—
  • Psalm 59:1 – Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me.
  • 2 Samuel 22:18 – He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me.
  • Psalm 143:9 – Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you.
  • Psalm 64:1 – Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.
  • Psalm 31:15 – My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.
  • 1 Samuel 17:37 – The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.
  • Psalm 140:4 – Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from the violent, who devise ways to trip my feet.
  • Psalm 17:13 – Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down; with your sword rescue me from the wicked.

Deliverance through Justice

  • Psalm 106:10 – He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.
  • Isaiah 1:17 – Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
  • Amos 5:24 – But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
  • Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
  • Proverbs 21:15 – When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.
  • Isaiah 30:18 – Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
  • Psalm 103:6 – The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
  • Proverbs 29:26 – Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.
  • Luke 18:7-8 – And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?
  • Psalm 146:7 – He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free,

Deliverance and Guidance

  • Psalm 32:8 – I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
  • Psalm 25:5 – Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
  • Psalm 48:14 – For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.
  • Isaiah 58:11 – The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
  • Psalm 23:3 – He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
  • Exodus 15:13 – In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.
  • John 16:13 – But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he speaks only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
  • Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
  • Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Deliverance in Health and Well-being

  • James 5:14-15 – Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
  • Psalm 41:3 – The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.
  • Matthew 8:17 – This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
  • Exodus 23:25 – Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you,
  • Psalm 147:3 – He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
  • Jeremiah 17:14 – Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.
  • Isaiah 53:5 – But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
  • 3 John 1:2 – Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
  • Proverbs 4:20-22 – My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.
  • Mark 5:34 – He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Deliverance from Fear

  • Isaiah 41:13 – For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
  • Psalm 27:1 – The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?
  • Deuteronomy 31:6 – Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
  • Psalm 56:3-4 – When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
  • 2 Timothy 1:7 – For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
  • Psalm 118:6 – The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
  • 1 John 4:18 – There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
  • Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
  • Psalm 34:4 – I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
  • Isaiah 35:4 – Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

Deliverance from Financial Troubles

  • Philippians 4:19 – And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
  • Deuteronomy 28:12 – The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
  • Malachi 3:10 – Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
  • Proverbs 3:9-10 – Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
  • 2 Corinthians 9:8 – And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
  • Psalm 37:25 – I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.
  • Luke 6:38 – Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
  • Proverbs 10:22 – The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.
  • Matthew 6:31-33 – So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
  • Psalm 34:10 – The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Deliverance for the Oppressed

  • Psalm 9:9 – The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
  • Isaiah 1:17 – Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. (Note: While this verse appears similar to one used in a previous category, its relevance to both justice and oppression justifies a second mention under a new light.)
  • Luke 4:18-19 – “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
  • Psalm 146:7 – He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free,
  • Proverbs 14:31 – Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
  • Jeremiah 22:3 – This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.
  • Psalm 12:5 – “Because of the devastation of the needy and the groaning of the poor, now I will arise,” says the Lord. “I will protect them from those who malign them.”
  • Proverbs 22:22-23 – Do not exploit the poor because they are poor and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life.
  • Isaiah 25:4 – You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall
  • James 2:5 – Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

Deliverance from Sin and Temptation

  • 1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
  • James 4:7 – Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  • Romans 6:14 – For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
  • Ephesians 6:11-12 – Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
  • Galatians 5:1 – It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
  • Psalm 119:133 – Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.
  • Romans 8:1-2 – Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
  • Titus 2:11-12 – For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
  • 1 John 3:8 – The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
  • 2 Peter 2:9 – The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.

Deliverance through Forgiveness

  • Ephesians 4:31-32 – Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
  • Matthew 6:14-15 – For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
  • Colossians 3:13 – Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
  • Luke 17:3-4 – So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
  • Psalm 130:4 – But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
  • 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
  • Acts 3:19 – Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
  • Daniel 9:9 – The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him;
  • Mark 11:25 – And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
  • Luke 23:34 – Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

Deliverance through Faith

  • Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
  • Ephesians 2:8-9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
  • Romans 10:9 – If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
  • Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
  • Hebrews 11:6 – And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
  • 1 Peter 1:8-9 – Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we live by faith, not by sight.
  • Romans 1:17 – For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
  • James 2:26 – As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
  • Mark 11:22-24 – “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Deliverance in Times of Despair

  • 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 – Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
  • Psalm 34:18 – The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
  • Psalm 147:3 – He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
  • Isaiah 43:2 – When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
  • Psalm 30:5 – For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
  • Lamentations 3:22-23 – Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
  • Psalm 40:1-2 – I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
  • Revelation 21:4 – ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
  • Psalm 55:22 – Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
  • 1 Peter 5:10 – And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Deliverance as a Promise

  • Joshua 1:5 – No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
  • Isaiah 54:17 – No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.
  • Deuteronomy 31:8 – The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
  • Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
  • Psalm 91:4 – He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
  • Romans 8:28 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
  • Psalm 121:7-8 – The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
  • Philippians 1:6 – Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
  • Psalm 23:6 – Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
  • 2 Thessalonians 3:3 – But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Deliverance through Prayer

  • Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  • James 5:16 – Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
  • Matthew 7:7-8 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
  • 1 John 5:14-15 – This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
  • Luke 11:9-10 – So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
  • Mark 9:29 – He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”
  • Acts 12:5 – So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
