Woman living at the time of United Monarchy

Hannah is a significant figure in the Bible, particularly during the time of the United Monarchy in Israel. She is first mentioned in 1 Samuel 1:2. Hannah was married to Elkanah and was the mother of Samuel, as mentioned in 1 Samuel 1:20.

From a biblical point of view, Hannah’s story is a beautiful example of faith, perseverance, and answered prayer. Despite facing challenges such as infertility and the taunts of her rival, Peninnah, Hannah remained steadfast in her trust in God. She prayed earnestly at the tabernacle, pouring out her heart to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:10-11).

God eventually answered Hannah’s prayer, and she conceived and gave birth to Samuel. In gratitude, she dedicated Samuel to the Lord’s service, bringing him to the tabernacle to serve under the priest Eli (1 Samuel 1:27-28).

Hannah’s prayer of thanksgiving and praise in 1 Samuel 2:1-10 is a powerful expression of her faith and recognition of God’s sovereignty. She acknowledges God’s power, holiness, and faithfulness, and rejoices in His provision and protection.

Hannah’s story serves as a reminder of the faithfulness of God and the importance of seeking Him in prayer. It also highlights the significance of dedicating our children and all aspects of our lives to the Lord.

In conclusion, Hannah was a woman of faith and prayer, whose story continues to inspire and encourage believers to trust in God’s faithfulness and seek Him in all circumstances.
